Where more magical than our Weddings in the Wood venue, hidden amongst the trees of a private ancient woodland estate, to host your wedding?

Fabulously private and secluded, you will enjoy exclusive use of the venue and we will do everything we can to make sure your very special day goes without a hitch and is memorable for all the right reasons! Our Carpenter's Barn is licensed for civil marriage and civil partnership ceremonies and your reception can follow straight on. The Carpenter's Barn can accommodate around about 100 guests for a sit down meal and the adjoining semi-permanent marquee can seat a further 120 people for dining. There is space on the remaining decked area and lawns to erect additional marquees if desired, which would allow you invite even more guests. After the wedding feast, the tables and chairs can be cleared from the barn to create a dance floor. You can hire a band or a dj to play in the barn - perfect for country dancing and we can even arrange bales of straw for seating!

We are flexible about your arrangements for catering and offer a licenced bar that can be operated in a number of ways. On site we have a large fire circle,  facilities for barbequeing and various options for entertainment. The newly weds can spend the night in our Honeymoon Shepherd's Hut and we also have accommodation on site for the wedding guests.

We provide the blank canvas for you to design your perfect event - this allows you the freedom to have your own dream wedding.

Hire our venue for parties and functions

Where better than our Carpenter's Barn to host a unique private function or fling a party for a special ocassion? We will do everything we can to make sure your woodland party goes smoothly and is memorable for all the right reasons!

The centre is available to for exclusive hire for your special occasion - big birthdays and anniversaries are our speciality. The Barn can accommodate around about 120 guests for a sit down meal and the semi-permanent marquee on the rear deck can seat at least a further 120 guests. If you are planning something on an even larger scale we can arrange to have further marquees erected on the adjacent lawn to extend the covered space.

The hire includes our staffed licensed Woodland Bar, which can be run on a cash or tab basis and an event manager who remains on site from start to finish. We provide the blank canvas for you to design your perfect event - from the caterers, to linen, table and chairs, decorations, right through to the music, we can either arrange it for you or you can organise your own so you can have things just as you want them. Secreted away in totally private woodland, you will not find a more beautiful or secluded venue for a private party in the woods.

The venue is also available for hire for other occasions such as blessings, naming ceremonies, wakes and other functions.

Day delegate facilities and conference venue

Our venue can be hired on an exclusive basis for use by day delegates or for company meetings and conferences. It is ideal for small groups (minimum of eight) right through to large conferences, where a different and private location is sought.

We offer the following options:

Full day meeting
This option includes the use of the Carpenter's Barn and the associated decking area and lawns for the whole day. We provide morning pastries and afternoon cakes and tea and coffee is available throught out the day. A delicious cold, buffet is served as standard for lunch but we are happy to quote for other options.

Half day meeting combined with half day activities
This combination includes the use of the Carpenter's Barn and the associated decking area and lawns for either a morning or afternoon. We can then provide a half-day adult activities session with qualified instructors. We supply morning pastries and afternoon cakes and tea and coffee is available throught out the day. A delicious cold, buffet is served for as standard for lunch but we are happy to quote for other options.

Extended meeting with evening meal
This option includes a meeting as described above with the time on site extended into the evening, with a choice of finishing times. We offer an evening meal (BBQs, paella evening, hog roasts, hot buffets, curries or pizzas), open our licensed Woodland Bar and light the fire in our camp fire circle to create an informal atmosphere in which delegates can unwind after the day's meeting.

Meeting combined with overnight accommodation
This option includes meeting as described above with overnight accommodation on site sleeping either in our rustic Shepherd's Huts or camping in tents/wild camping. We offer a choice of evening meal from hot buffets, BBQs, hog roasts, curries or pizzas to eating at a local pub (following a guided forest walk). On site we open our licensed Woodland Bar and guests enjoy socialising around our camp fire circle. A night under the stars in the forest with just the flickering light from oil lanterns and the fire is a unique and memorable experience for delegates.

Our alternatives for lunch include BBQ, hog roast, paella or hot buffet, depending on delegate numbers. Please note all outdoor activities undertaken on site must be run by New Forest Outdoor Centre staff.

 

The site facilities include the following:

• Spacious Carpenter's Barn, which is equipped with lighting, power, black out blinds and projector screen. It is heated with a large wood-burning stove, which is always a central attraction.
• WiFi access, OH projector, flip chart and pens, delegate stationary.
• Small meeting room for breakout meeting.
• Tables and chairs to seat up to 120 people in the barn, with the option to extend the availabe space with a marquee on the adjoining deck to accommodate greater numbers.
• A large south-facing wooden deck, accessed directly from the barn, via double doors. There is a semi-permanent marquee on this area to extend the covered space during the summer months. The deck is ideal as an outdoor classroom or for entertaining.
• Plenty of lawned area, with splendid trees and picnic tables, where weather permitting, delegates can adjorn for discussion groups or just to unwind between sessions.
• Separate walled garden area with marquee.
• First class hospitality including cold/hot buffets and bbqs, tea, coffee, morning pastries and afternoon cakes.
• Ladies and gents cloakrooms, with hot showers.
• Ample free car parking.
