Group Drumming Workshops for team building

The facilitator of the drumming workshop beats the drum

Group drumming is an energising activity that stimulates team participation. We provide an exciting array of drums and other percussion instruments and the session begins with a fun warm-up period, where inhibitions are banished!

Delegates begin to appreciate at a deep level the basic drum patterns and rhythms that originate from Africa but have been at the heart of western popular music for many, many years.

The group are then taught simple interlocking pattern and rhythm parts, which are then brought together. There is a real sense of achievement when the delegates realise that the sum of their individual parts makes music! Group drumming sharpens the skills of listening, concentration, focus and risk-taking, and of course team work, all of which can be transferred back to the workplace.

"After I overcame my inhibitions of playing in public, I discovered deep within me that I do have rhythm and could contribute to the music-making."
