Our projectile activities include the following:

Woodland Archery for outdoor team building

Archery is one of the projectile activities available for our team building programmes

Where better than the New Forest Outdoor Centre, set in one of England's oldest hunting reserves, to pull a few strings and loose some arrows? Archery is an ancient sport, dating back thousands or years to when the bow defended our land and provided the next meal.

Today team members on our outdoor team building programmes can learn the skill of arching using our modern, efficient bows and arrows. Our archery sessions begin with a full safety briefing from fully qualifed instructors before individuals are sized for a suitable bow and given one to one tuition.

Axe throwing for outdoor team building

Delegate gets ready to start axe-throwing activity, part of an outdoor team building programme

This is traditionally the sport of lumberjacks, and our axe-throwing legend of an instructor will generally play the part by sporting a check shirt!  Axe throwing is more about relaxation and rhythm than brute strength.

It is fairly easy to master, with most people being able to get the axe on target after a few attempts but it is difficult to become consistently good. The activity begins with a full safety briefing and tuition from our qualified instructors.

Air Rifles and Pistol Shooting for outdoor team building

Taking aim in the pistol range, one of the outdoor team building activites available for team building programmes

This exciting outdoor team building activity gives team members the chance to practice their sniper skills. We have both .22 calibre air rifles and .177 calibre pistols available.

To start, participants receive a safety briefing followed by tuition on using the weapons from our qualified instructors. From the safety of our dugouts and wearing safety googles, team members can then take aim and practise their shot in our firing range. Once they have gained in confidence and mastered the necessary skills we can introduce scoring.

Crossbows for outdoor team building

Firing a cross bow in the shooting range at the New Forest Outdoor Centre, Hampshire

This James Bond style shooting activity turns most delegates from city slickers to special-forces agents in next to no time! Crossbows were first introduced into England as far back as 1066 by the Normans and were primitive affairs.

We deploy modern 100lb drawstring weapons, equipped with telescopic sights, giving delegates the opportunity to master a new/unusual skill. The activity begins will a full safety briefing. This is followed by expert tuition from our qualified instructors. Although a perfect activity for complete novices, a high level of skills and concentration is required to hit the target.
